What to do if you want me to solder the unit for you
1) order a set of pcb's at artengine, select the no-shipping option
2) write me a mail about the order right after you ordered. that is to prevent sending raw
boards to you, since i have my own stock here. include your address, so i can look up how
much shipping to you cost. see the main page to find my e-mail address.
3) wait for my reply. it will include the price for shipping, my address and answers
to questions you might have about the process.
4) order all the parts at digikey america, but let them ship the parts to me directly.
you can also let them ship it to you, and you resend them to me. or you get the parts somewhere else
and send them to me.
5) send me letter with the money in euros (only!) that is needed to ship the unit to you, plus
the fee for building it.
6) once all the stuff arrived here, i build the unit, test it and send it to you.
*** Important - read carefully ***
if i build the unit, you dont need to send me an sram chip, and also dont order all the 10k resistors
from the partlist. do not order/send any transformers. do order the wiremount connectors mentioned at
the very bottom of the partlist. generally, only send me parts that also have a digikey part-# in the list.
digikey no longer ships the sram chip that is required for the box. add an extra 5,-- euro's in the letter
mentioned above if you want me to include that chip. they are nicely available here.
the shipping cost vary between 27 and 60 euro for international, inside europe between
15 and 25 euro and inside germany betwwen 4,50 and 10 euro.
ask me about the exact cost. also add some extra for packaging materials.
there is no other way to get the money to me except for sending it with a letter. sorry for that, but im not
going to change that soon. this is a private service from me for you, it is not meant to make me rich.
any fees and/or additional grants you send will go directly into the further development of the unit and extensions
for it.
if you need the box to do something that it can not yet, or that you dont know how to do, feel free to ask
me for help. if its easy, you will get a small schematic by mail in a few days. if it gets more complicated you
have to fund the development process by providing the parts i need for your stuff. this also includes to eventually
order prototype-pcb(s) for the finished circuit, if neccesarry. the only "payment" needed for that is one complete
unit of exactly that thing. oh, and it is required to be an open thing as well, so i can provide it here for others
too.
DISCLAIMER
any units that i build will be tested for correct function.
however, since i am private person, i can not give any guarantees. in no way i can made
responsible for any damage of the unit after i sent it (that includes shipping damages as well!),
nor for any damages that arise out of the use of the unit. in no way i am liable for any fault of the
unit or for problems that arise because of a faulty unit.
if the unit needs "service", send it to me plus the money to ship it back to you, plus 10,-- euro for handling.
if it is easily possible for me to fix it, i will fix it and send it back. if not, or not easily, i will contact
you to figure out what to do next and send it back as sonn as it is clear what you want me to do in that case.
i can not and will not fix any damages that are results of bad/wrong soldering or other physical damages to the
pcb(s)! in that case you simply need to start over again with fresh boards...
if the above terms are not acceptale for you, im sorry. then you have to either build it yourself, or find some
other friendly guy who will do.
